About Donations

The Reciprocity Collective does not seek funding through government sources and nor will we in accordance with our mission and strategic plan. TRC believes that the strength of the community lies in the connections and relationships we build and nurture. Reciprocity is defined as: a mutual, dependence, action or influence…a mutual exchange of privileges. That means that we all contribute and invest, in big ways and small and we all benefit by being a part of a community that we are all proud to be a part of.

Partner Impact

Our success is due in part to the fact that we work in collaboration with a robust group of non profit and employment partners that are deeply rooted in the community. To date, our network extends to 52 nonprofit agency partners, and 29 employer partners.

The Cost

On average, the total cost is $238 per participant – which is needed to provide the multifaceted support and employment opportunity to get each participant back on their feet.

Story Snippets

Ten months, connections made for employment, medical and mental health, LGBTQ support, housing, furniture and community meant that this young transgender couple, homeless and unemployed for over 6 years, have a brighter future.

Animals are a great way for individuals who have suffered from trauma to learn to connect and also manage their anxiety. Our four Doggie Day Care business partners have provided employment, purpose and a healing space for our participants.

A young couple living in their car and separated from their daughter for over 8 months. TRC facilitated employment, housing, health care, furniture and a way for their little girl to join them for 2020.

A group of older individuals struggling in the community and each in isolation. Weekly gatherings, relationship building and learning of and supporting each others dreams. The Reciprocity Collective practices Asset Based Community Development: purpose and connection abound.

How you can donate

Give the Basic Need of Connection to those who have been shut out.

In 2020, TRC distributed 150 phones and the program continues to reach our goal. For a donation of $200, you can help reconnect a person we serve to the world.

Donate Stocks

Donating stock is simple and easy, and giving directly to charity is one of the most tax-smart ways to give.

We have been donors to The Reciprocity Collective (TRC) since the non-profit was initiated. For many
years, we have observed the passion and drive of Mary Putman as she has dealt with all of the issues of
integrating members of the homeless community into meaningful opportunities for local employment.
We want to support the success this nonprofit has had in educating the business community that their
effort to partner with The Reciprocity Collective is a benefit to everyone. We have seen firsthand the
pride of previously homeless individuals who have been welcomed into the workplace, and have the
support of their co-workers, as well as TRC. This organization is unusual in that it fills the gap between
“offering willing homeless individuals a job” and “ensuring the success of these individuals in the
workplace”.
